Sunpaw woke up and stretched her legs. She saw many cats around the fresh-kill pile. "Mouse Dung!" she thought. She really wanted to go hunting. She was good at it and asked to go on each patrol. Sunpaw looked around for her mentor, Stoatwhisker. "Thank goodness I don't see him. I really dislike Stoatwhisker. He yells every time I don't do something right." she thought. Sunpaw contemplated on asking for a new mentor, but decided not to. "I wish I could sleep all day and not do any training just like a kit." Sunpaw thought. She pushed that thought away. She was a kit just a moon ago. Sunpaw was an apprentice now and had real responsibilities. "I'm on my way to become a warrior and fight against the fiercest of all warriors. I can't give up because of an ornery mentor!" Sunpaw thought. "I'll ask to go on the next border patrol," she decided.
